Tourism is on the up

TOURISM in Neath Port Talbot has a promising future according to the Leader of Neath Port Talbot Council.

Last year, tourism brought £68 million to the borough and 1,000 jobs according to figures released on the News Wales website.

In addition to this, figures also suggest that visitor spending last year had increased by two per cent, accommodation had gone up by 12 per cent and the number of visitors in the borough had risen by 13 per cent.

Council Leader, Derek Vaughan, attributes this rise to popular attractions, such as the successful Afan Forest Park and the improved Aberafan Seafront.

The council are now focusing on regenerating Neath Port Talbotís Valley communities in order to rejuvenate tourism in these areas.
