Glyncorrwg Action Group raised more than £300 at its Cawl and Coffee morning on St David's Day. The group is fighting against Eco2 in Cardiff and the Spanish-based Gamesa, who want to set up wind turbines in the Upper Afan Valley. Group spokesman Bob Slater said: "People in the village are trying to raise money to fight against multi-million pound companies who are proposing wind farm developments, which most people believe will ruin this beautiful area." Reaching to more than 600ft, some of these turbines will be among the highest in the world. Mr Slater said:"The way forward is to cut energy consumption, not to ruin areas of outstanding natural beauty with inefficient and ugly wind farms."
