Glyncorrwg Action Glyncorrwg

Glyncorrwg Action Group

We have been meeting regularly and we are doing all we can to fight off the proposals for windfarms in the Upper Afan Valley. We are having strong support from our MP Hywel Francis and from our AM Brian Gibbons.

No application has been made yet, but could happen soon. Look at our website: for full information.

We are working with other local communities to win this fight.

Thanks to all those who are donating glasses in good condition for use in developing countries. So far Glyncorrwg Action Group has sent 402 pairs which will make a big difference to people's lives. Keep them coming!

Victory has been claimed in the fight to save Cymmer Ambulance Station.

This is excellent news for our valley. People power has played a big part in winning the fight for the ambulance service to stay in our valley. It is now proposed that the station will stay in the village, and merge with Cymmer Fire Station. The amalgamation must take place by March 30, which is the deadline set by the HSE on the existing site. The same service will be provided from the Fire Station.
